West Columbia Outreach (WCO) represents a partnership between the West Columbia Police Department (WCPD) and the University of South Carolina College of Social Work. WCO is a free and confidential community resource referral service established in 2016 to support WCPD and the community of West Columbia.

West Columbia Outreach strives to support our residents and our West Columbia Police Department Officers by providing community resources related to:

Mental Health
Substance Use
Housing Insecurity
Utility Assistance
Food Insecurity
Trauma
Family & Child wellness
Support for the Elderly Population
Support for Veterans 

WCO aims to:

Support officers through reducing calls for service from individuals who may benefit from social service intervention.

Promote positive behavior change through screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment services.

Connect West Columbia citizens to local community resources.

Program is led by:

Licensed Master Social Worker, Rhonda DiNovo

West Columbia Police Chief, Marion Boyce

Program is staffed by:

Advanced-Year Master of Social Work Students
